Tufted fabric headboard – A tufted fabric headboard is a stylish way to add a bit of flair to a room and create a focal point out of bed. Making a tufted fabric headboard with a few basic materials and tools are an economical alternative to buying a pre-made at home goods stores, where upholstered headboards can sometimes be expensive.
Nail four 2×4 plywood together to form a wooden frame. If the tufted fabric headboard will go behind a king size bed, it may be necessary to use two 2×4 boards and two 2×6 boards to make a long rectangle. Place a piece of cotton batting over the open space in the frame, so that the edges of the batting curtain over the frame. Place a piece of fabric over the batting and wrap materials ends of wooden frame as if you were wrapping a gift. Fix the edge of the fabric to the back of the frame with a staple gun.
Add four buttons on top of the fabric in such a way as to be similar to the four corners of a square. Use a needle and thread to sew buttons to the fabric and batting behind it, pull the stitches tight until buttons create a small tuft or part of the fabric. Hammer a line of nail in the bed wall and hang the new tufted fabric headboard form nails. Push the bed until it lines up against the headboard.
